About the Role

Seeking a highly skilled and proactive Executive Assistant to support the VP of Strategy & Planning within Cisco’s People, Policy, and Purpose (3P) organization. This role provides sophisticated administrative and strategic support, acting as a trusted partner to manage operational requirements and facilitate stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Handles VP's calendar by prioritizing schedules and meetings, potentially deciding who gets on the principal’s calendar and which meetings are attended.
  • Coordinates VP's event speaking engagements, working with the communications team to ensure content needs are met.
  • Assists VP in planning and organizing meetings, including agenda, location, technology, and logistics.
  • Prepares meeting briefing documents, takes and disseminates notes, and formulates post-meeting action item lists.
  • Builds travel packs for international trips and large domestic events, including event information and logistics.
  • Acts as proxy for communications and approvals as authorized, answers general questions, and refers routine matters.
  • Takes initiative to resolve issues within specified policies and guidelines and mentors administrative community members.
  • Determines when executive action is required and supplies recommendations.
  • Makes in-depth global travel arrangements for VP, optimizing itineraries and handling expenses.
  • Works with airlines directly to accommodate Global Services benefits for upgrades.
  • Provides analytical support to executives on special projects, including research, problem analysis, data compilation, and report preparation.
  • Prepares and briefs itineraries for large Corporate Events and accompanies VP for support.
  • Deals professionally with sensitive and confidential matters and materials.

Requirements

  • Experience providing support at the VP level.
  • Takes initiative, can handle a full desk with ease, and thrives in a lively environment.
  • High-energy with a passion for thinking bigger and broader than the role itself.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, independent judgment, and utmost integrity.
  • Ability to balance both strategic and tactical actions.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Enjoys a collaborative environment, is committed to improvement, solves problems, and makes decisions.
  • 4+ years’ experience in an administrative environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting a principal who was at the director level or above.
  • Expert level knowledge of Windows desktop computer applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in calendar management, planning meetings, and coordinating travel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to connect with all levels of Executive/Senior staff and clients.

  • $97,700.00 - $169,400.00 (New York City Metro Area)
  • $90,200.00 - $135,900.00 (Non-Metro New York state & Washington state)
