About the Role

Rime is seeking its first Technical Program Manager to own engineering coordination, including priorities, timelines, and IC alignment. This role requires a systems-thinking approach, the ability to read code, and active participation in technical decision-making, working closely with engineering leads, founders, and the modeling team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment between company objectives and engineering blueprints.
  • Drive the company roadmap while allowing engineers autonomy.
  • Triage requests from customers, sales, marketing, and leadership, translating them into sequenced tasks.
  • Identify and address execution blockages, inefficient information channels, and unrealistic timelines.
  • Perform ad-hoc coding to facilitate work coordination when necessary.
  • Act as a cross-functional coordinator across engineering roles.
  • Solicit feedback and propose action plans to build trust across the company.
  • Manage project management and issue tracking tools to coordinate work.
  • Own and manage public documentation at docs.rime.ai.
  • Oversee the compliance burndown in coordination with infrastructure and engineering.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in program or project management, coordinating technical work across multiple engineering workstreams.
  • Comfortable diving into codebases, reading PRs, understanding system diagrams, and asking informed questions.
  • Ability to perform ad-hoc coding with the assistance of LLMs when necessary.
  • Strong written communication skills and an async-first working style.
  • Understanding of the difference between a roadmap and a time-scoped plan, and their appropriate applications.
  • Ability to trust engineers' expertise while holding them accountable without creating obstacles.
  • Proactively fix small issues that block progress.
