About the Role
Own the mid- and long-term strategy for JetBrains products for JavaScript and TypeScript developers, aligning product direction, go-to-market efforts, and external partnerships with the evolving web development ecosystem. Translate ecosystem signals into strategic priorities and represent JetBrains in the broader web developer community.
Responsibilities
- Set the strategy and direction for JetBrains products for web developers, initiating new product directions for unaddressed niches.
- Define and coordinate work across product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and partnerships within the web ecosystem.
- Track significant changes and trends in the web community, including frameworks, tooling, releases, and workflows.
- Build and maintain relationships with key individuals and organizations in the web ecosystem.
- Collaborate with engineering and QA leads to establish priorities and plan work.
- Represent JetBrains at key industry events and meetings.
- Coordinate with other product ecosystems on overlapping areas.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of web developer workflows: JavaScript/TypeScript, major frameworks (especially React), Node.js, browser tooling, package managers, build tools, code quality tools, testing, and performance tooling.
- Proven experience setting product direction based on market needs as a Product Manager or Head of Product.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams (product management, marketing, developer advocacy, business development) directly or through influence.
- Strong external-facing communication skills, including partnership development, community engagement, and executive-level interaction.
- Ability to leverage data for decision-making, integrating community feedback with product usage and business results.
