About the Role

Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is seeking an experienced commercial Electronic Security Systems Field Engineer to join their federal team. This remote/virtual role requires extensive travel to support Department of Defense and other federal government sites across the United States, with all travel expenses paid.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete Electronic Security projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Perform or delegate tasks required to execute and complete assigned projects, including system programming, integration, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Develop project plans and coordinate resources for timely and cost-effective installation and completion.
  • Provide work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration.
  • Complete installation of hardware design and software programming using established standards.
  • Manage and complete the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers.
  • Validate complete system functionality and resolve issues to ensure proper operation.
  • Provide accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to team members.
  • Ensure work performed complies with legal requirements and that all personnel adhere to safety standards.
  • Assist with the selection, ordering, budget, and delivery schedule of project materials.
  • Communicate project status to management and assist with monthly forecasts.
  • Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system and provide necessary documentation.
  • Adhere to safety standards, local and national security and fire codes, prioritizing employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of field experience in the commercial or industrial Electronic Security industry.
  • Technical, hands-on experience with systems design, commissioning and/or programming of Electronic Security Systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and general windows environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances.

  • $85,000 - $105,000 base salary
  • Bonus Eligible: Yes, 10%
