About the Role
This role will lead the strategic design of Spotify's subscription portfolio end-to-end, shaping the architecture of tiers, add-ons, bundles, and the broader pricing ecosystem. You will help define how the portfolio works today and how it evolves to better serve listeners while driving sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of Spotify’s subscription portfolio, including tier structure, add-ons, bundles, and feature allocation.
- Set the logic of the price ladder, including relative pricing, upgrade paths, and regional ladders.
- Drive the insight agenda with Consumer Insights and Analytics, translating findings into portfolio strategy recommendations.
- Partner with GTM Enablement and cross-functional teams to design and apply in-market tests.
- Build the business case for portfolio decisions, including sizing, contribution logic, trade-offs, and long-term commercial impact.
- Drive alignment across Product, Finance, Pricing, Legal, Licensing, and senior leadership on key architecture decisions.
- Influence the product roadmap to reflect willingness-to-pay signals, consumer needs, and portfolio strategy.
- Own the multi-year evolution of Spotify’s subscription portfolio and the sequence of moves to achieve future goals.
Requirements
- Deep commercial strategy experience in pricing, packaging, monetization, subscriptions, or consumer businesses.
- Ability to think structurally and reason across an entire packaging-and-pricing system.
- Strong intuition for consumer behavior and behavioral economics.
- Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and building cross-functional consensus without direct authority.
- Ability to move fluently between consumer language and commercial logic.
- Experience with Good-Better-Best architectures, feature gating, add-ons, bundles, or regional price laddering.
- Experience from strategy consulting, product strategy, corporate strategy, pricing, consumer tech, media, or subscription businesses.
- Familiarity with content or rights licensing and its impact on product packaging is valuable.
