About the Role

The Donor Relations Coordinator acts as a Midlevel Gift Officer to advance the mission of The Salvation Army. This role focuses on cultivating donor relationships, driving strategic engagement, and supporting fundraising initiatives across the Golden State Division to ensure sustainable donor connections.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of up to 1,200 active donors.
  • Build and maintain donor relationships through calls, emails, and personalized stewardship.
  • Send timely personal thank you notes and welcome kits.
  • Respond promptly to donor inquiries.
  • Provide impact updates on local programs and invite donors to events or tours.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and document touchpoints in the database.
  • Provide monthly reports on giving patterns and year-to-date production.
  • Identify and refer potential major gift donors to Donor Relations Directors.
  • Collaborate with Army programs to stay informed on community needs.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure a unified approach to donor care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Experience in data entry, marketing, and customer service.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Must support the religious mission and purpose of The Salvation Army.
