About the Role
Altom Transport is seeking an Owner Operator Driver to join their team. This role is crucial for the safe and efficient transport of bulk liquid chemicals and petroleum products, emphasizing a partnership approach where drivers are treated as business owners.
Responsibilities
- Haul chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers while adhering to DOT regulations.
- Ensure truck meets all inspection standards and remains in top condition.
- Follow proper procedures for ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker operations at loading and delivery points.
- Maintain accurate logs, submit necessary paperwork, and adhere to Hazmat regulations.
- Represent Altom Transport professionally at all customer locations.
- Manage fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue.
- Maintain a steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements.
- Be available 24/7 when needed.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A License
- Tanker Endorsement (N)
- Hazmat Endorsement (H) – Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available)
- TWIC Card – Preferred (or must obtain after hire)
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience
- At least 23 years of age
- Clean MVR and strong safety record
- Able to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independently
- Willing to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if needed
- Late model equipment that meets Altom’s inspection standards
