About the Role

The Assembler III performs assembly work to manufacture products cost-effectively and timely while meeting quality standards. This role involves validating materials, reviewing work instructions, building products to specifications, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Uses work instructions, drawings, and schematics to perform assembly.
• Operates assembly equipment and tools safely and effectively.
• Follows established quality standards and participates in continuous improvement efforts.
• May cross-train in multiple assembly areas and flex to other departments based on business needs.
• Develops and maintains an understanding of the products being assembled and their business impact.
• Continuously learns job principles, practices, and processes as changes occur.
• Participates in team meetings to exchange job-related information.
• Resolves problems with assistance from peers or supervisors.
• May provide task-specific training to employees on work instructions/standard work.
• Possesses a general understanding of the ERP system.
• Flexes to multiple workstations based on business needs.
• Performs complex assembly work within tolerance and quality standards at the defined rate.
• Retrieves information and performs transactions within the ERP system.
• Provides training to employees on work instructions/standard work.
• Contributes to identifying problems and implementing appropriate countermeasures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of complex assembly or related experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate in a team environment.
• Accepts responsibility for own actions and follows through on commitments.
• Ability to understand and execute basic standard assembly procedures, interpret basic visual diagrams, and use basic hand tools.
• Ability to perform basic reading, writing, math, and computer functions.
• Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to act safely while following established procedures, processes, and policies.
• Ability to understand and execute basic standard procedures, interpret basic visual diagrams, and use advanced tooling.
• Ability to perform more complex assembly skills.
• Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge (e.g., using electronic work instructions).
• Ability to understand and execute advanced standard procedures, interpret basic visual diagrams, and use advanced tooling.
• Ability to solve problems with minimal guidance.
• Experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.).
• Experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work.
• Regularly required to stand.
• Frequently required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and to talk and hear.
• Regularly required to walk, stoop, crouch, bend, and reach above shoulders.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, walking up to 10 feet away.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Must comply with assigned location PPE requirements, including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks, and closed-toed or safety shoes.
