About the Role

Finicity, a Mastercard company, is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join the Data Science and Analytics team. This role focuses on intelligent decisioning, financial certainty, entity resolution, and verification solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, passionate about leveraging data to provide high-quality customer solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow the data science team and tech stack for production-grade services.
• Plan and direct data science and machine learning projects.
• Design and implement machine learning models for financial applications including transaction classification, temporal analysis, and risk modeling.
• Measure, validate, implement, monitor, and improve performance of internal and external machine learning models.
• Apply machine learning, deep learning, and LLM techniques to solve analytical problems.
• Propose creative solutions to challenges new to the company and the financial industry.
• Present technical findings to business leaders and clients.
• Leverage best practices in machine learning and data engineering to develop scalable solutions.
• Identify resource gaps and provide sustainable solutions.
• Communicate vision and roadmaps effectively to stakeholders.
• Abide by security policies and ensure information confidentiality.
• Report suspected information security violations.
• Complete mandatory periodic security trainings.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data science and machine learning model development and deployment.
• Strong understanding of NLP, statistical modeling, and visualization.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, Docker, REST APIs, and event streams.
• Familiarity with GenAI, LLMs, Agentic AI, TensorFlow, Python, Sklearn, and Pandas.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
