About the Role

The Material Handler will be responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehouse parts and delivering them to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. Work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. The Material Handler will be required to achieve company standards for Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Picking warehouse parts and delivering them to assembly areas.
  • Working closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment.
  • Achieving company standards for Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Productivity.
  • Working under general supervision while following company procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Participating in metric boards measuring Safety, Quality, CI, and Productivity.
  • Completing and retaining all required training.
  • Resolving problems with assistance from peers or supervisors.
  • Following defined procedures and practices.
  • Participating in 5S programs.
  • Completing forklift daily per procedure.
  • Maintaining good attendance.

Requirements

  • Material Handler I: 0-2 years of experience.
  • Material Handler II: 1-3 years' experience.
  • Material Handler III: 2 to 5 years' experience.
  • Follow and adhere to company policies.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic PC knowledge.
  • Ability to identify and resolve basic problems.
  • Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Intermediate PC knowledge.
  • Ability to identify and resolve intermediate problems.
  • Ability to operate all forklift or other equipment to transport materials.
  • Ability to enter/maintain/transact materials in company ERP program.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to learn and use problem solving tools in everyday work.
  • Previous experience coaching and training other employees.
  • Experience leading and forming teams.
  • Previous experience and ability to operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials.
  • Ability to enter/maintain/transact materials in company ERP program.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Regularly required to use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
  • Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
