About the Role

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will join the Operations Excellence organization to enhance platform reliability, observability, and operational efficiency. This role involves managing critical infrastructure, implementing best practices, and supporting over 600 engineers in delivering high-quality user experiences through technical leadership and complex problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain highly available AWS infrastructure including EKS clusters and multi-region architectures
  • Support reliability of critical services including CI/CD pipelines, API Gateways, and GraphQL federation
  • Monitor SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for Tier 1/2/3 systems
  • Implement reliability patterns such as circuit breakers, graceful degradation, and automated failover
  • Deploy observability solutions using NewRelic for APM, distributed tracing, metrics, and logging
  • Build dashboards and alerts to reduce MTTD and MTTR
  • Identify infrastructure cost optimization opportunities and implement FinOps practices
  • Execute chaos engineering experiments and contribute to resilience frameworks
  • Participate in game day exercises, disaster recovery simulations, and on-call rotations
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and implement system improvements
  • Collaborate with Platform, Quality, and product teams on reliability and security initiatives
  • Support compliance requirements including SOC 2, PCI, and GDPR
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes cluster management
  • Proficient programming skills in Python, Go, or Java
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Production experience with observability tools such as NewRelic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms and GitOps workflows
  • Experience with on-call rotation and incident response
