About the Role

Provide functional rehabilitation in real-life settings like home, school, work, and the community. Treat clients beyond staged environments to help them regain functional capabilities in their natural surroundings.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices per the treatment plan.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in collecting outcome measures and completing complex treatment procedures.
• Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed.
• Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided.
• Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program.
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification and license to practice in state of application.
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred, related to treatment of complex neurological injuries.
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques.
• Current CPR certification.
