About the Role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless, consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty. Designers are responsible for meeting with customers, understanding their project needs, and creating design concepts that align with their personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support walk-in design needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals
• Provide expert advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple simultaneous customer projects with accuracy and timely follow-up
• Maintain consistent communication with customers and internal teams
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Model and coach best practices to store employees
• Stay current on emerging design trends
• Utilize design applications including Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of interior design or retail/sales experience
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position
• Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
