About the Role

VCA Lakeline Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join their team in Austin, TX. The role involves supporting the Technician and Doctor teams to create a positive, low-stress environment for clients and patients, aiming to build client confidence and deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, physical examinations, surgical preparation and assistance, dentistry, laboratory work, pharmacy, and patient recovery.
  • Restrain and assist in patient exams and routine procedures.
  • Take detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
  • Fill prescriptions (as allowed by law).
  • Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
  • Provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
  • Maintain medical records.
  • Assist Doctor and Technician staff as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.

Requirements
