About the Role

Within our consult business, Mace harnesses its unique combination of leading-edge practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential in every project. Mace is working on major transit and transportation infrastructure programmes in Canada and continues to build capability to support current and future client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assures the assessment, management, and mitigation of risk in accordance with regulation and business standards.
  • Drives change through communication, persuasion, engagement, and innovation.
  • Supports the integration of the Operational HSW job family into an efficient, effective, and cohesive team.
  • Monitors and reports on performance, providing advice, guidance, and expertise as needed.
  • Translates business strategy and objectives into local business plans.
  • Collaborates with operational directors to deliver cost-effective and efficient performance.
  • Develops and delivers agreed local business plans to time, quality, and budget.
  • Supports succession planning and career development activities for teams.
  • Collaborates with the assurance function in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Engages and influences identified business and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensures timely and effective escalation of non-compliance issues that cannot be influenced or resolved.
  • Manages a large team of direct reports, driving appropriate behaviors to achieve success and key performance indicators (KPIs), including a continuous improvement culture.
  • Provides performance management, technical, and career development and coaching.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of HSW legislation, regulations, and sector-specific delivery.
  • Experience implementing and improving management systems, including certification processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and apply assurance and audit strategies.
  • Solid experience in risk management and mitigation within a large organization (enterprise and project level).
  • Ability to assess team competency, align resources effectively, and support development planning.
  • Skilled in presenting technical HSW information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Salary/Compensations

  • 180,000 - 240,000 CAD
