About the Role
The Environmental Coordinator role supports the High Speed 2 (HS2) SCS Integrated Project Team (IPT) in assuring the design and construction of the IPT scope of works. This role ensures compliance with environmental requirements, commitments, law, and regulations, and provides guidance on environmental design solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support the SEM/EM in organizing, coordinating, and undertaking the environment element of HS2 risk-based technical assurance of works.
- Support the Senior Environment Manager with internal and external reporting of environmental matters.
- Ensure timely assurance and acceptance of contractors' reporting.
- Support the SEM in tracking and coordinating timely and accurate communications through the contract.
- Assist in the development and progression of environmental innovations identified by contractors.
- Undertake desk-based and onsite environmental assurance and surveillance activities.
- Assist in the coordination and reporting of assurance findings.
- Deputise for the Environment Manager as required.
- Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all work.
- Support and comply with all organizational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.
Requirements

- Base salary: £26,871pa to c£31,613pa
- Flexible benefits fund of 15% paid on top of base salary
