About the Role
Delivers all food menu items and accurately describes them to the guests. Acts as a liaison between servers, cocktail servers, bartenders, and chefs. Interacts with guests, fellow employees, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Maintain professional appearance standards.
- Anticipate and accommodate all guest needs.
- Provide professional and exceptional service.
- Deliver and describe all food items to guests in a timely manner.
- Participate in table maintenance and bussing of excess tableware.
- Maintain general cleanliness of stations and the entire venue.
- Follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of all food menus and the company.
- Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
- Communicate guest needs to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support staffs, managers, and chefs.
- Properly set-up runner’s station, perform side-work and other opening/closing procedures.
- Stock station with prescribed items and supplies.
- Perform opening and closing side-work as prescribed.
- Report all breakage and equipment/furniture damage immediately to management.
- Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings.
- Attend and participate in training sessions or departmental meetings.
- Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge.
- Portray a positive and professional attitude.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Company, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
- Work as part of a team and provide help and support to all fellow team members.
Requirements
- Must be able to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.
- Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
- Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Skills
- Food Handling Certificate
- Hospitality experience
- Food running experience
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge
Education Level
- Company in-venue runner training
