About the Role

The Program Manager plays a key role in raising the profile of JFCS in the community by building relationships with individuals and organizations and encouraging their involvement. This role develops and manages community and volunteer initiatives, connects the community with JFCS, and builds and strengthens the NextGen community (ages 20s-40s) by fostering engagement, participation, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Implements strategies for targeted outreach to engage individuals and organizations with JFCS and to recruit volunteers.
  • Collaborates with regional staff to develop new projects, programs, and experiences for community engagement.
  • Manages direct service volunteer programs engaging volunteers with senior and adult clients.
  • Assesses clients referred to the program, recruits, screens, and trains volunteers.
  • Matches clients with volunteers and provides ongoing support.
  • Acts as a liaison between client, volunteer, and case managers.
  • Manages volunteer inquiries and follows screening, orientation, and training procedures.
  • Leads the development and execution of JFCS NextGen programs.
  • Oversees the JFCS NextGen Leadership Speakers Series.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in volunteer management or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) required.
  • Knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and customs preferred.
  • Knowledge of Jewish organizations in San Francisco preferred.
  • Previous experience working in the Jewish community preferred.
  • Experience facilitating large groups.
  • Ability to inspire volunteers through group presentations.
  • Excellent networking and outreach skills.
  • Ability to clearly present program goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to support programs, events, or community engagement activities.

Salary/Compensations

  • $35.90 - $38.46/hr
