About the Role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide electrical engineering and design for assigned project deliverables, focusing on base building electrical systems, tenant design, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This role involves leadership and mentorship within the electrical engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent electrical design projects, including scope, deliverables, CAD, authority requests, budgets, and financials.
  • Conduct research on the feasibility and design of building electrical systems such as power distribution, utilities, lighting, controls, emergency power, life-safety systems, fire alarms, and renewable power.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, facility management, and technicians on architectural, mechanical, and electrical projects.
  • Provide electrical design support for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Provide electrical design support for tenant fit-ups and mechanical equipment upgrades.
  • Support designs from initiation to completion with equipment selections, cost and timing estimates, reports, specifications, and drawings.
  • Mentor junior engineers within the Professional Services team.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of processes, including quality control.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard specifications, detail libraries, and design best practices.
  • Provide experience and leadership on all electrical deliverables.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design/engineering.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Codes and Provincial Building Codes.
  • Experience in engineering consulting.
  • Strong understanding of the engineering environment in the electrical sector.
  • Highly meticulous with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in engineering and construction of building and site electrical, power, lighting, and life safety systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages is an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and other employees.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Prior customer interface experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computer tools.
  • Knowledge of building mechanical systems is an asset.

Salary/Compensations

  • $82,432 - $103,040 per annum
