About the Role
Pizza 73 is seeking an operationally minded Payroll Manager to support payroll and HR administration accuracy and efficiency. This role manages full-cycle payroll processes, compliance, HRIS, and onboarding support using ADP Workforce Now, acting as the subject matter expert and driving system optimization.
Responsibilities
- Process biweekly full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried Team Members accurately and within established timelines using ADP Workforce Now
- Review and validate payroll data including hours worked, overtime, statutory holiday pay, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
- Manage payroll adjustments including retroactive payments, off-cycle payrolls, and manual calculations as required
- Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with all applicable federal and provincial legislation, employment standards, and company policies
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reporting, Records of Employment (ROEs), year-end processing, T4s, taxable benefits, and related reconciliations
- Maintain payroll records and documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
- Support payroll audits, remittances, reconciliations, and reporting requirements
- Act as the internal subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting capabilities, automation, and payroll efficiencies within ADP
- Support the rollout, implementation, and enhancement of ADP Workforce Now initiatives across restaurant operations
- Partner with Operations and HR teams to support onboarding workflows and system processes for restaurant Team Members
- Troubleshoot payroll, time and attendance and HRIS issues while providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate Team Member data and organizational structures within HRIS systems
- Generate payroll, labour, and HR reporting as required
- Administer Team Member benefit programs including enrollments, terminations, changes, and reconciliations
- Support leave administration processes and ensure appropriate documentation and legislative compliance
- Partner with HR to support hourly recruitment administration and onboarding coordination
- Prepare employment letters and payroll-related documentation as required
- Serve as a key contact for Team Member payroll and benefits inquiries
- Maintain current knowledge of payroll legislation, tax updates, employment standards, and payroll best practices
- Ensure payroll and Team Member documentation is maintained in compliance with legislative and company requirements
- Support operational and cross-functional projects related to payroll, onboarding, HR systems, and process improvement
- Build strong partnerships with restaurant Operations teams to support business needs and improve service levels
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of progressive payroll experience in a multi-unit or operational environment
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now is required
- Experience supporting payroll system implementations, enhancements, or process optimization initiatives
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, year-end processing, ROEs, taxable benefits, and payroll compliance
- Experience administering Team Member benefits programs
- Exposure to onboarding workflows and HR administration processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
