About the Role

This role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to provide technical services for water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations. Responsibilities include control systems engineering, automation design, and construction support.

Responsibilities

• Design activities including field review and evaluation of existing equipment, control systems, and control panels.
• Preparation of conceptual reports and technical memorandums.
• I&C engineering and analyses related to water, wastewater, and industrial waste treatment facilities.
• Support of engineering design projects and studies within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Development of construction documents including drawings (P&ID's, network architecture, control panel details, CCTV and Access Control System architecture, wiring diagrams, instrument installation details), technical specifications, control strategies, functional diagrams, Cause and Effect tables, and summary control system schedules.
• Review and evaluation of electrical schematic diagrams, mechanical specifications, and process flow diagrams.
• Coordination of I&C deliverables with process, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Procurement support activities including preparation/review of instrument datasheets and review of contractor/supplier submittals, shop drawings, and responses to Requests for Information.
• Providing engineering services during construction, including equipment supplier inspections, factory tests, site inspections, commissioning support, start-up, performance testing, and generation of field reports.
• Control system diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Developing project scope definitions, budgets, and staffing plans.
• Ensuring personal safety and the safety of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.

Requirements

• Experience with equipment selection.
• Experience with equipment and communication network layouts.
• Experience with process control design coordination with other engineering disciplines.
• Proficiency in PLC, HMI, and SCADA system planning, design, programming, and upgrade.
• Ability to perform duties as project I&C lead or as a project team member.
