About the Role
Bodycote is the world's largest provider of thermal processing services, employing thousands of highly skilled staff globally. This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus and is classified as safety-sensitive due to the industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement the facility’s preventative maintenance program.
- Conduct scheduled inspections of fluid levels, water flows, quench oils, filters, washer soap and similar items, notifying supervisor of issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized Maintenance Department work area, promptly cleaning up after work.
- Assist in equipment performance testing per companywide and manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Perform corrective actions for out-of-specification conditions as directed by supervisor.
- Assist in analytical troubleshooting of issues to maintain equipment, facilities, and vehicles.
- Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
- Maintain shop copies of manuals and blueprints in a neat and organized manner, providing updated information as required.
- Run company errands and pick up equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Operate company vehicles safely and courteously.
- Promptly report observed equipment and facility repair or maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Make suggestions for changes to improve facility efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Assist in maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
- Perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage to inventory.
- Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
Requirements
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Must possess troubleshooting skills with mechanical equipment and be analytical.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
- Ability to function as an effective team member through good communication and cooperation to meet plant goals.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; must have excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize work flow.
- Actively participate in team meetings to work on problem solving and continuous improvement of the organization.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Must be able to work in an industrial environment at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.
- Ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week.
- Overtime and weekends may be required.
