About the Role
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and operational support of enterprise WAN, LAN, wireless, and secure connectivity solutions. This role provides advanced troubleshooting expertise and ensures reliable, secure solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement enterprise WAN, LAN, wireless, and remote access network solutions.
- Lead the technical delivery of assigned network projects from detailed design through implementation and operational handoff.
- Create and maintain low‑level network design documentation, including detailed Visio diagrams, implementation plans, and support handover materials.
- Assess network performance and capacity to ensure solutions meet current and near‑term business requirements.
- Provide third‑level technical support for complex network incidents, including root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
- Analyze network activity and incident trends to identify, remediate, and prevent systemic issues.
- Support major incidents by providing deep technical expertise and coordination with internal teams and vendors.
- Collaborate with Information Security to ensure security and compliance requirements are incorporated into all network designs.
- Provide technical assistance for the investigation, analysis, and mitigation of network vulnerability alerts.
- Implement secure networking principles, including segmentation, secure remote access, and policy enforcement.
- Work directly with network vendors and service providers to validate designs, troubleshoot complex issues, and support escalations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Account Managers, Security, and Network Operations teams to ensure successful end‑to‑end delivery.
- Provide clear technical communication to stakeholders across engineering and support organizations.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware enhancements to improve network reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Use Python and network automation tools to streamline configuration, validation, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Contribute to service improvement plans that enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
- Provide training, guidance, and technical mentorship to network support engineers.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, standards, and operational documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Expert‑level knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Advanced understanding of Cisco routing and switching in large enterprise environments.
- Advanced knowledge of Arista switching.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise WAN, LAN, wireless, MPLS, and TCP/IP networking.
- Advanced experience with Cisco VPN networking.
- Strong troubleshooting, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
