About the Role

As part of the expansion plans in Canada, we are looking for an experienced, energetic, and passionate Shift Lead. This position reports directly to the Store Manager. As the Shift Lead, you must be an exceptional leader who can motivate, inspire, and develop the store team while representing the Fox Clothing brand. In collaboration with the Assistant and Store Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the financial success of the store; ensuring positive customer experiences; driving profitable top-line sales growth and coaching store associates to consistently provide customers with an exceptional fashion retail experience. The Shift Lead understands key business drivers and adjusts the business accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize sales potential by coaching associates’ behaviors on the sales floor and fitting rooms.
  • Act as a role model for the in-store team by coaching and developing to maximize the success of all associates.
  • Help manage controllable expenses by optimizing employee talent to minimize expenses.
  • Open and close the store as needed and act as management in the absence of the Assistant and Store Manager.
  • Assist in meeting payroll goals by ensuring appropriate floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus in absence of the Assistant and Store Manager.
  • Continuously ensure the correct replenishment of apparel, accessories, and new collections.
  • Help build a team that works well together based on the needs of the store.
  • Be familiar with current collections, trends, and key pieces to maximize sales.
  • Ensure visual and merchandising standards by directing merchandise flow, mannequins, and outfit displays.
  • Ensure compliance with the store image, cleanliness, and window display standards.
  • Assist in the control and management of stock and inventories.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with the store team.
  • Assist in the implementation of company strategies by setting expectations and ensuring accountability.
  • Optimize selling space in order to obtain maximum profitability.
  • Know the performance of product categories and displays in the store in order to maximize sales.
  • Continuously ensure the correct replenishment of the store.
  • Provide and ensure exceptional, fashion-focused customer experiences consistently.
  • Maintain Fox Clothing brand policies and procedures.
  • Ensure correct execution of administrative tasks in line with business plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a comparable retailer with an emphasis on fashion/apparel.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve individual selling goals and metrics.
  • Proven ability to drive sales results, able to analyze selling reports, identify business trends and react quickly to the needs of the business.
  • Comfort in making decisions and mediating conflict within a team environment.
  • Ability to address complex issues and allocate time to execute multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to identify/assess top talent and train/develop/retain great people.
  • Product awareness and commercial orientation with a passion for fashion.
  • Customer and image-oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work a flex schedule (which may include nights, weekend and holiday availability).
  • Ability to bend, lift, open and move product and fixtures up to 50 lbs., as needed.
  • Ability to climb step stools and ladders.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods at a time.
  • Possess manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to travel to other store locations (if needed) and attend district meetings.
  • This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for long periods of time.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers and management.
