About the Role

This is a founding-level role for a senior occupational health and safety professional to serve as the intellectual and professional anchor of the firm's consulting and training practices. The role involves shaping the firm's point of view, leading high-stakes consulting engagements, overseeing curriculum architecture, and driving business growth across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the firm's intellectual position on workplace health and safety.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry shifts to provide proactive customer guidance.
  • Identify emerging health and safety issues to maintain the firm's thought leadership.
  • Serve as the senior-most technical authority on consulting engagements including audits, investigations, and compliance reviews.
  • Set standards for scoping, delivery, and quality assurance of consulting work.
  • Lead complex, high-stakes customer engagements involving regulatory scrutiny or enterprise-level safety transformation.
  • Build and mentor a team of consultants and trainers to foster technical excellence.
  • Act as senior curriculum architect to ensure training programs are accurate, current, and effective.
  • Deliver keynote and flagship training programs to customers and industry audiences.
  • Oversee quality assurance for all instructors, including performance evaluations and development.
  • Develop new training offerings to expand into new sectors.
  • Partner with leadership on business development, proposal support, and account expansion.
  • Develop scalable, premium consulting and training offerings.
  • Build long-term customer relationships to establish the firm as a primary partner.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in OHS consulting, advisory, or senior in-house safety leadership.
  • Professional designation: CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of Canadian OHS legislation, CSA standards, COR frameworks, and regulatory environments.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Proven track record leading high-stakes engagements such as Ministry of Labour inspections, WSIB matters, and enterprise audits.
  • Demonstrated experience as a compelling trainer and public speaker.
  • Experience building, mentoring, and leading teams of safety professionals.
  • Comfort operating at the executive and board level.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies to enhance training and compliance.
