About the Role
Oversee the day-to-day operations of WA’s No.1 websites thewest.com.au, perthnow.com.au as well as the national digital newspaper, thenightly.com.au. In this senior leadership position, liaise with newsroom leaders to devise strategies to drive audience and reader engagement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all three of WAN’s websites – The Nightly, thewest.com.au and PerthNow.
- Build and manage teams responsible for audience, content creation and social media across all three websites (including Perth and Sydney offices).
- Manage all analytics to build a data-driven culture within the newsroom.
- Define and execute search, social media, video and off-platform strategies.
- Stay ahead of industry, SEO and social media trends, and discover new methods of engaging audiences.
Requirements
- Intimate knowledge of online publishing and digital news
- Substantial journalism experience
- Strong knowledge of digital audiences across all platforms
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong writing and communication skills
- An eye for detail, a head for news and a hunger for a good yarn.
