About the Role
This is a leadership position in the demand forecasting and demand planning domain, crucial for SK-II's continued growth. The mission extends beyond simple supply-demand adjustment to connecting brand strategy, sales planning, and supply chain strategy to maximize category sales growth and profit. This role involves analyzing multiple data sources to lead optimal demand forecasting and supply planning, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and maximizing business opportunities while minimizing risks of stockouts and excess inventory.
Responsibilities
- Lead the demand forecasting and sales forecasting process, including monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
- Develop accurate demand forecasts considering past performance, sales trends, promotion plans, market conditions, and brand strategies.
- Manage and lead the monthly demand planning cycle, analyzing sales forecasts, shipment forecasts, and demand fluctuation factors.
- Provide input for supply and inventory planning based on demand forecasts and propose actions to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Continuously monitor demand planning KPIs, drive improvements in forecast accuracy, and analyze forecast vs. actual variances.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to implement improvement measures.
- Lead cross-departmental projects to optimize demand planning and supply chain operations, coordinating with brand, sales planning, purchasing, accounting, and supply chain teams.
- Design and manage regular review meetings involving stakeholders, visualizing and sharing business risks, supply risks, and sales opportunities.
- Take ownership of the entire demand planning process, leading continuous process improvement.
- Standardize forecasting reviews, input data management, documentation, and decision-making processes to build a more accurate operational foundation.
- Lead the demand planning cycle for monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
- Track actual performance against past sales plans and analyze discrepancies.
- Analyze root causes of discrepancies and formulate corrective actions.
- Create shipment and supply-related forecasts based on sales forecasts.
- Track, report, and analyze demand planning KPIs.
- Early detection and communication of supply shortage/overstock risks to stakeholders.
- Optimize supply-demand balance considering brand initiatives, sales plans, and supply conditions.
- Manage regular meetings with relevant departments and support decision-making.
- Drive process improvement projects to enhance demand forecasting accuracy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Native level Japanese proficiency or JLPT N1.
- English proficiency of TOEIC 800 or higher is required for communication with multinational teams.
- Over 4 years of experience in supply chain analysis, demand forecasting, sales forecasting, or supply planning.
