About the Role
The Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center (BKETC) is seeking a highly motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering team. This position will provide hands-on experience in the development and deployment of cloud-based software applications used in the support of commercial aerospace products.
Responsibilities
- Develop cloud applications using microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with team members on various aspects of the software development lifecycle for cloud-based software applications.
- Support the implementation of problem and change requests against the current software.
- Participate in a globally-distributed team to help design, code, and test software.
- Attend project meetings to learn about project status and contribute to discussions.
- Interact with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates.
- Support Agile software development methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with project management and stakeholders to review project status and manage schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in software development, including design, coding, and testing (internship, academic projects, or coursework are acceptable for junior roles).
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#, Python, JavaScript).
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Familiarity with cloud software development, REST APIs, and web application development (experience with Blazor is a plus).
- Basic knowledge of container platforms such as OpenShift, AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of SQL databases (e.g., MS SQL) through coursework or personal projects.
- Exposure to CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) practices.
- Interest in geometric metrology or applied mathematics is a plus.
- Familiarity with Object Relational Mapping frameworks (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Entity Framework) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of workflow orchestration frameworks (e.g., Prefect) is a plus.
- A passion for developing high-quality software products.
- A motivated attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to team success.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in Point Cloud Library or geometric metrology processing is a plus.
- High interest and experience in advanced assembly topics.
