About the Role

Design and drive the overall security architecture for the PlayStation platform, integrating hardware and software security features from silicon to manufacturing and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and drive the overall security architecture for the PlayStation platform.
  • Integrate security features including SoC security, secure console manufacturing, Root of Trust, Secure Boot, Hypervisor and kernel security, DRM, crypto key management, device authentication, execution environment protection, and attack mitigation.
  • Achieve consistent security design across the PlayStation platform by collaborating with specialized development teams, SoC, system software, manufacturing, and content protection teams.

Requirements

  • Experience in security architecture or development across multiple domains such as computer architecture, OS, virtualization, cryptography, Secure Boot, TEE, hardware security, DRM, and authentication/key management.
  • Knowledge or practical experience in designing attack mitigation techniques (e.g., ASLR, Control Flow Integrity, privilege separation, sandboxing, memory protection) considering attack methods, performance impact, compatibility, and implementation costs.
  • Ability to understand system-wide threat models and articulate security requirements, design policies, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Experience driving architectural design and technical decisions through collaboration with multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Effective communication skills for smooth collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ability to read technical documentation written in English.
  • Willingness to actively engage in communication using English, even with the assistance of translation tools.
  • Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 or equivalent skill level.
