About the Role
Kyndryl's Infrastructure Specialist is an expert in a project-based subject area across the infrastructure landscape. They excel at providing analysis, documenting and diagramming work for handover, delivering timely solutions, and generally figuring out what needs to be done. This is a hands-on role where feeling the interaction between systems and their environment is critical for all clients. The role has two facets: engaging in current projects to analyze technical issues, propose solutions, test, modify, automate, and integrate systems; and developing long-term, strategic plans for IT infrastructure and operations. This role requires broad knowledge across all platforms as it is not limited to a specific one, offering diverse experience and growth opportunities at Kyndryl. Early involvement helps identify technical and timeline risks, addressing both client expectations and internal challenges. Success is often demonstrated by clients returning and specifically requesting the same individual, highlighting the impact of the role. It's a project-based role allowing deep involvement throughout a project's lifecycle, with opportunities to collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and PMs. Regardless of current technical knowledge or career direction, suitable opportunities and supportive colleagues can be found.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Deep expertise in a specific technical area (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data and analytics).
- Experience with enterprise IT applications.
- Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or system architecture in a public cloud (AWS) domain.
- Deep knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience driving engineering solutions and working across multiple teams.
- Extensive experience and judgment in planning and achieving objectives.
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to derive conclusions and courses of action.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong process improvement experience.
