About the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Information Technology team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Solutions Architect, you will work across application development, cloud integration, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that support business improvement initiatives across the organisation. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with close collaboration across technical and business teams, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both solution development and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using .NET and Microsoft Azure services.
- Develop AI-enabled and automation solutions using Azure and Microsoft technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Support cloud-based applications through troubleshooting, optimisation, and continuous improvement activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Contribute to security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Explore emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to existing platforms and processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience developing applications using C# .NET and Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, Power Platform, and related Azure services.
- Experience integrating AI and automation solutions, including Power Automate.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
- Exposure to enterprise integration and cloud architecture environments.
- Experience supporting complex organisational systems and reporting platforms.
- Full working rights in Australia.
