About the Role
We design spaces, services, and environments for organizations seeking new ways to innovate and improve the interior workplace. As a Gensler Designer, your job will be to combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional design skills, a background in interiors or architecture, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will collaborate with our broader design team to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images, and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. Responsibilities
- Collaborate on projects to hone skills in programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Brainstorm interior architecture approaches to meet client needs.
- Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
- Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction.
- Collaborate within the team structure to deliver the best work for clients.
- Partner with product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to develop knowledge of finishes and furniture.
- Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
- Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittments and finish samples.
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school.
- 0-5 years of interior design experience.
- Outstanding graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas throughout the process.
- Portfolios should include well organized examples of design work during school as well as relevant finish palates, test fitting, working visualizations, and design documentation completed during internships or previous positions.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, and Revit highly preferred.
- Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices.
- Submit resume and portfolio in PDF format.
