About the Role

Layer Health is seeking a curious, technically-minded Product Manager to build and ship features on their clinical intelligence platform. This role involves close collaboration with product, design, engineering, and research teams to translate LLM capabilities into valuable tools for clinical environments. As an early hire, there is a strong opportunity for skill growth, increased ownership, and shaping product development alongside the founding team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the AI UX by shaping how healthcare professionals interact with AI, ensuring clarity and actionability of LLM outputs.
• Learn clinical workflows by understanding clinician and nurse daily tasks, identifying friction points, and pinpointing areas for platform improvement.
• Support data integration by understanding product connections with EHRs, HL7/FHIR standards, and clinical data pipelines, and prioritizing integration efforts.
• Ship product features by owning features from discovery to launch, ensuring reliable AI-powered experiences in production.
• Close the feedback loop by collecting and synthesizing clinician feedback, partnering with research on model evaluation, and implementing product improvements.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of Product Management experience, preferably in B2B software, health-tech, or a complex domain.
• Technically curious, comfortable working with engineers and researchers.
• Exposure to AI/ML products or a strong interest in learning.
• Understanding of LLM feature development, iteration, evaluation, and edge cases.
• Motivated to learn clinical workflows and medical charting.
• Prior health-tech experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to learn quickly from users.
• Structured thinker capable of breaking down ambiguous problems, writing clear specs, and coordinating teams.
• Familiarity with data systems, APIs, or enterprise software integrations is helpful.
• Early-stage mindset, eager to wear multiple hats, move fast, and grow into broader ownership.
