About the Role
The Restaurant Server at Seaworthy, part of The Barnett Hotel, is responsible for identifying and accommodating guest needs, serving guests quickly and efficiently with complete menu knowledge, and maintaining a clean station.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and acknowledge guests upon arrival.
- Follow established Hotel service sequence for consistent food & beverage guest experiences.
- Handle payment for guests purchases in compliance with Hotel & PCI and cash handling procedures.
- Properly ring guest orders through the POS system (Micros).
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Work with a spirit of teamwork.
- Communicate needs and ideas to management.
- Maintain current and accurate knowledge of the outlet menu.
- Follows all safety and sanitation policies.
- Upsell items to guests.
- Properly check all guests’ identification to ensure legal age compliance.
- Perform side work as needed.
- Keep server station clean and organized.
Requirements
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
- Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution.
- Have superb time management skills.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- Must meet any required minimum age to serve alcohol.
- Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.
- Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.
- Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.
- Sit, walk, and stand continuously.
- Lift / carry 25lbs (frequently) and 50lbs (occasionally).
- Bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
- Use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, dampness, height, and moving machinery.

Experience Level

- Additional restaurant experience (host, food runner, bus person, etc.) preferred.

- TiPS certification preferred
