About the Role

Partner with Product Management to understand and design solutions for customer and end-user challenges. Recommend process and technology improvements to reduce technical debt and enhance team effectiveness. Contribute to product and solution designs for complex problems and critical issues. Build software applications across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with technical architecture and standards. Provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers and actively participate in the engineering community.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Management to understand customer and end-user challenges and design viable solutions.
  • Recommend viable solutions to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve team effectiveness and reduce technical debt.
  • Foresee capacity requirements for component usage and identify limitations.
  • Provide input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning.
  • Contribute to product and solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems.
  • Build software applications across multiple platforms in response to stakeholder needs.
  • Understand technical architecture and write software and automated tests aligned with agreed-upon standards.
  • Perform trouble-shooting efforts and investigations.
  • Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.
  • Actively work with less-experienced software engineers providing technical guidance and oversight.
  • Actively participate in the engineering community, staying up to date on new software technologies and best practices and shares insights with others in the organization.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field and 4 years of experience in designing, coding, testing, correcting, and documenting programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools.
  • Must have 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components, client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree and 4 years of experience, employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree and 2 years of experience, or a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree and experience or graduate-level coursework.
  • Must have experience or graduate-level coursework in ensuring adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, standards or practices.
  • Must have experience or graduate-level coursework in conducting reviews of own work and leading reviews of colleagues' work.
  • Must have experience or graduate-level coursework in establishing standards and procedures across the technology service lifecycle (including the development lifecycle) in the areas of systems integration and testing and ensuring adherence.
  • Must have experience or graduate-level coursework in managing application enhancements to improve business performance.
  • Must have experience or graduate-level coursework in creating applications from conception and design to implementation and support.
  • Must have experience or graduate-level coursework in managing web hosted applications using a modern cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Must have experience or graduate-level coursework in working with Agile application development practices.
  • Must have experience or graduate-level coursework in analyzing data and working with SQL and relational databases.
