About the Role

As the Payroll Lead, you will aid in the full cycle payroll process with a focus on the US. This role is responsible for collecting, organizing, and maintaining company hires, initiating and completing the new hire onboarding workflow. You will be the primary contact for retail stores and corporate employees, managing daily payroll inquiries and functions, including processing promotions, terminations, and personnel changes. This role leads US bi-weekly pre & post payroll processing, assists with vendor management, auditing, invoice payments, year-end reporting, and special projects. You will also provide backup support for Canadian payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workflow and processing of bi-weekly Payroll
  • New hire Onboarding
  • Communicate with retail stores regarding employee onboarding
  • Launch, follow up, and finalize onboarding process in ADP
  • Create and maintain digital employee file folders
  • Enter new hire data into HRIS & Payroll system
  • Maintain accurate data integrity
  • Process employee promotions, transfers, and general updates
  • Process employment status changes for the US population
  • Process terminations in the system, ensuring compliance with final pay states
  • Assist with payroll reconciling and preview processes, including ADP data audits
  • Focus on SOPs and process improvement for Payroll/HR
  • Maintain US tax and payroll compliance across 25+ US states
  • Provide excellent customer service daily to internal and external customers
  • Maintain, update, and format Excel Payroll Reports
  • Complete other duties or projects as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ Years of full-cycle US Payroll experience with a progressive mindset
  • Experience in the retail industry and office environment preferred
  • Exposure to Canadian Payroll is strongly recommended but not required
  • ADP Workforce Now, or similar Payroll system experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to comfortably communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally and discreetly
  • Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain high integrity and business ethics
  • Positive, professional, and energetic demeanor
  • Must be an ambassador of the L’Occitane brand
