About the Role
The Marketing Assistant, Digital & Social Media supports title-specific projects, grows social media presence, and assists the team administratively. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in digital marketing, learn campaign strategy, work with authors, and manage departmental functions.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and creative support for marketing campaigns and initiatives across the Digital & Social Media team with a main focus on paid and organic social media
- Contribute to the overall organic social media strategy, including copywriting and content creation for @abramsbooks, @abramskids, @akastoryabrams and @piquebeyond social media platforms across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
- Oversee social media community management, while keeping abreast of industry trends
- Organize campaign tracking and analytics to evaluate ROI on key performance marketing initiatives and present a monthly content and engagement report to the marketing team
- Assist in guiding authors and stakeholders on social media best practices and ways to leverage their platforms
- Maintain budget grids; manage invoice tracking and payments, AMEX coding and general updates and deadlines across the team
- Execute core departmental tasks, including updating marketing plans and other seasonal tracking documents, and processing book orders and mailings
- Attend trade and consumer events as needed (limited travel required)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A passion for reading and the importance of connecting consumers with books
- Excellent written and verbal communicator
- Detail-oriented project manager with strong time management skills
- Able to balance multiple projects, and is comfortable shifting course and asking for help when needed
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Open-minded, innovative, proactive self-starter who can work well independently yet flourishes in a collaborative environment
- Easily builds and maintains relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at different management levels
- Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and TikTok, and is highly engaged online, with a strong pulse on current social media trends and online communities.
- Proficiency in Mac OS and MS Office Suite, with strong knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of Google Analytics, email marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp), Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
- Internship experience in digital marketing, preferably within the publishing industry
