About the Role
Way Service is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Chiller Service Technician to support customers in the Austin/Central Texas market. This field-based role requires a self-motivated individual with strong chiller experience, excellent customer communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
- Work on air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, hydronic systems, pumps, cooling towers, boilers, RTUs, packaged units, and related mechanical equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, routine overhauls, and system diagnostics.
- Service applied equipment in commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, data center, and similar environments.
- Communicate clearly with customers, explain technical findings, and deliver professional service.
- Use digital tools to document work, progress, and service recommendations.
- Support team members and mentor junior technicians.
- Participate in ongoing training, including OEM and factory training opportunities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial HVAC experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
- Experience with centrifugal and screw chillers, chiller controls, preventative maintenance, service work, and overhauls strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of systems 100 tons and above preferred.
- Experience with AHUs, boilers, centrifugal pumps, cooling towers, hydronic loops, large RTUs, and related applied equipment.
- Ability to work independently and dispatch from home across Central Texas.
- Strong safety mindset, customer focus, positive attitude, and reliable work ethic.
- Willingness to travel across the Austin / Central Texas service area.
