About the Role

Manage a team responsible for the U.S. KYC periodic refresh, ensuring compliance with US KYC/AML, FINRA, FATCA, and other relevant regulations. This role involves calculating metrics, identifying process enhancements, and escalating critical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Facilitate the periodic refresh of US clients efficiently, compliantly, and with a client-centric approach.
  • Resolve day-to-day matters and escalations for the KYC Periodic Refresh team in the US, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Continuously acquire and enhance knowledge of the Bank's business strategies, policies, risk management practices, products, financial markets, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with business line management to develop and implement processes for the U.S. Periodic Refresh program.
  • Adhere to AML controls, including reviewing high-risk customers and conducting screenings (PEP, Negative News, Sanctions, etc.).
  • Develop and report KYC metrics and prepare management reports for stakeholder meetings.
  • Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure process efficiency, identifying and addressing gaps.
  • Support project workstreams impacting U.S. Periodic Refresh.
  • Work with Quality Assurance, 2nd Line AML, Audit, and regulators to facilitate testing and examination engagements.
  • Engage and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in financial services with recognized expertise in current and anticipated regulatory frameworks impacting Customer Refresh in the US (BSA, FinCEN rules, FINRA requirements, US PATRIOT Act & FATCA).
  • A sound understanding of the banking and capital markets business is necessary.
  • Requires a client-centric approach to the role.
  • Must have broad knowledge of end-to-end workflows among the Front, Middle, and Back Offices.
  • Will require work outside of traditional business hours.
  • Must be able to operate effectively within a stressful environment with changing priorities and tight time frames.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes.
  • Strong communications, analytical, organizational, project/change management, and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of businesses, products, operations, systems, and organization.
