About the Role

Pinterest is seeking inquisitive, well-rounded iOS engineers to join their engineering teams. In this role, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to enable new technologies and experiences, build robust frameworks and features, and empower both developers and Pinners. You will have the opportunity to find creative solutions to complex problems and drive new initiatives from inception through release.

Responsibilities

Build out Pinner-facing frontend features in iOS to power the future of inspiration on Pinterest
Contribute to and lead each step of the product development process, from ideation to implementation to release
Rapidly prototype, run A/B tests, and architect and build scalable solutions
Partner with design, product, and backend teams to build end-to-end functionality
Suggest new product ideas and features from a Pinner's perspective
Employ automated testing to build features with a high degree of technical quality
Take responsibility for the components and features developed
Grow as an engineer by working with world-class peers on varied and high-impact projects
Leverage AI to seek faster execution (e.g., draft, prototype, outline) and explore alternative options (e.g., iterate, compare approaches)
Leverage AI to synthesize information (e.g., summarize, distill themes) and automate repeatable tasks (e.g., documentation, reporting, QA checks)

Requirements

Deep understanding of iOS development and best practices in Objective C and/or Swift (e.g., Xcode, app states, memory management)
5+ years of industry iOS application development experience, building consumer or business-facing products
Experience in following best practices for writing reliable and maintainable code
Ability to keep up-to-date with new technologies
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflows
Strong track record of critical evaluation and verification of AI-assisted work (e.g., testing, source-checking, data validation, peer review)
High integrity and ownership: protect sensitive data, avoid over-reliance on AI, and remain accountable for final decisions and deliverables
