About the Role

The Department of Nursing at Le Moyne College seeks a full-time professor of practice nursing faculty member to teach, mentor, and advise students in graduate and undergraduate nursing programs. The ideal candidate will possess clinical expertise, a passion for nursing education, and a collaborative spirit to develop future nursing professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, instruction, and improvement of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program curriculum.
  • Engage in FNP program accreditation maintenance, self-study, and review processes.
  • Design and deliver engaging graduate and undergraduate courses in on-campus and online formats.
  • Serve as a content expert to ensure academic rigor and clinical relevance in assigned courses.
  • Teach clinical applications and foster professional role development as a classroom instructor and clinical preceptor.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Participate in Department of Nursing, Purcell School, and College-wide committees and service initiatives.
  • Demonstrate and role-model Le Moyne's mission-based competencies in all interactions.
  • Strengthen digital literacy skills through education and application of digital technologies.
  • Treat all individuals with dignity, professionalism, and kindness.
  • Align professional goals with the college's strategic goals.
  • Maintain excellent work attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
  • Attend and actively participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Comply with all Le Moyne policies, procedures, and codes of conduct, including health and safety regulations.
  • Complete all required federal, state, institution, and department trainings.
  • Engage in a planned program of professional development.
  • Continuously maintain skills and knowledge relevant to the position and technology industry.
  • Perform a variety of related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing (Doctorate preferred).
  • Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
  • Active, unencumbered New York State RN license.
  • Prior higher education teaching experience with a history of teaching excellence.
  • Experience with program planning and curriculum development in advanced practice nursing.
  • Excellent public speaking and verbal communication skills.

Salary/Compensations

  • $81,000 to $83,500 annually
