About the Role
As a Staff Engineer, you will define the technical standards for how we deliver search results at scale. You will balance hands-on development with high-level system design, ensuring our frontend and backend systems are resilient, performant, and SEO-dominant.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of our React/Next.js frontend and Node.js/GraphQL microservices.
- Drive initiatives to optimize Core Web Vitals and SSR strategies.
- Ensure our SERP remains the fastest in the industry.
- Lead the integration of AI coding assistants and LLMs into the SDLC.
- Be responsible for the "human-in-the-loop" verification of AI-generated code regarding security, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, and Design to operationalize machine learning models and predictive analytics into the user experience.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience (8+ in modern stacks) with a deep focus on SEO-friendly React architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience in cloud-native design (AWS EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3) is an asset.
- Experience with modern data pipelines is an asset.
- Build for "the next 10x" of traffic.
- Deep understanding of automated deployment, instant provisioning, and building a developer toolchain that minimizes friction.
- A natural leader who raises the bar for the entire engineering organization through code reviews, RFCs, and a growth-oriented mindset.
- Professional experience implementing complex A/B testing frameworks and deriving actionable insights from high-volume traffic data.
