About the Role

As a Senior Data Scientist in the AI Venture Studio delivery team, you will act as a hands-on individual contributor converting scientific and business opportunities into AI product hypotheses, experiments, and solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams to build and evaluate AI systems across R&D, Commercialization, and Manufacturing, focusing on the intersection of applied data science and AI engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Frame business and scientific questions into measurable AI product hypotheses, success metrics, and evaluation plans.
  • Contribute to agile AI Accelerator cycles by testing hypotheses and validating product increments.
  • Build data science prototypes using Python, SQL, notebooks, and AWS-aligned data services.
  • Support sandboxed data problem solving in non-production environments.
  • Evaluate and curate analytical context for AI agents, including instructions, memory, and data tools.
  • Develop analytical features, embeddings, classifiers, and optimization methods.
  • Partner with Data Engineers to shape reliable datasets, retrieval corpora, and feature pipelines.
  • Design and execute evaluations for LLM, RAG, and agentic workflows.
  • Build evaluation rubrics, golden datasets, and error taxonomies to measure model quality and hallucination risk.
  • Define KPIs and analytical measurement plans for AI products.
  • Apply statistical modeling, experimental design, and causal inference to measure product impact.
  • Create visualizations and narratives to communicate model behavior and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Contribute reusable notebooks, analytics templates, and data science patterns.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical problem-solving.
  • Coach peers on data science, evaluation design, and evidence-based decision making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, applied AI, analytics, or computational science.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and R.
  • Experience applying machine learning, statistics, NLP, information retrieval, or decision science to real-world products.
  • Experience with LLM applications, RAG, agentic AI, and prompt/evaluation design.
  • Familiarity with AWS data and AI services such as S3, Athena, RDS/PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, SageMaker, and Bedrock.
  • Experience with evaluation rubrics, hallucination risk measurement, and causal inference.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, knowledge graphs, and data quality practices.
  • Experience communicating quantitative findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effective use of coding agents or AI-assisted development tools.
