About the Role
Our Banquet Servers work at special functions and events, playing a key role in taking care of guests in a friendly and professional manner, and working as a team member to ensure all tasks are completed. Banquet servers have strong cocktail & beer knowledge and experience working in a fast-paced/high-volume dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in opening/closings, setups and breakdowns and ensure overall room ambiance, cleanliness, appropriate setting and presentation
- Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables
- Serve food and beverages to guests & make recommendations if needed
- Share menu knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests
- Assist guests and suggest food with appropriate beverage pairing
- Record transactions in the MICROS system correctly and timely
- Check-in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each course and beverage
- Clean tables, complete closing duties and re-stock tableware and other supplies
- Provide bar service to guests, including cash and credit card services
- Conduct inventory of product pre and post function and replenish as needed
- Remove soiled dishes, linen, silverware and restore/replenish settings
- Respond to and try to fulfill any special banquet events arrangements
- Comply with all Archive standards, policies and procedures at all times
- Prepare the event space with the appropriate food and beverages as stated in the banquet event order (BEO)
- Stock food stations, drink stations, wine and bar as per banquet event order (BEO)
- Ensure returned liquor is stored away appropriately
- Stocking all garnishes as required for service
- Apply the necessary precautions with regards to food safety and hygiene standards
- Undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements
- 1-2 years minimum experience in banquet/restaurant/bar/and hotel
- Must be legal age to serve alcohol
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a high volume environment
- Great conversational skills and teamwork-oriented
- Positive outlook and outgoing personality
- Able to stand/walk for long hours
- Must be Smart Serve certified
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job
