About the Role

STV is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Building’s division in NYC. This role involves planning and preparing HVAC designs, calculations, reports, equipment selection, and specification writing for building projects. The engineer will also lead projects, mentor junior staff, and interact with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and preparation of HVAC designs, calculations, reports, equipment selection and specification writing for building projects.
  • Leading projects.
  • Working with and mentoring junior staff.
  • Meeting with clients to discuss project matters and making recommendations.
  • Providing design services to both public agencies and private corporations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience designing a wide variety of facilities for commercial, industrial, municipal, institutional and governmental projects.
  • Experience with all mechanical systems.
  • Experience leading mechanical projects including working with and mentoring junior staff.
  • Focused experience with federal and state agency projects, and/or local municipal projects is a plus.
  • Project management experience is a plus.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • PE license required
  • Proficiency in mechanical designs with 3D Revit modeling
  • Proficiency in energy and load modeling/calculation software
  • Proficiency in report writing
  • Proficiency in application of the building and Mechanical code
  • Understanding of ASHRAE, NFPA, and building codes and standards
  • Competent in Microsoft Office including Words and Excel
