About the Role

The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses in the Master of Computer Science in Cybersecurity Operations and Management program starting Fall 2026. Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction, assessing student learning, and mentoring students on research projects with industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate-level courses in cybersecurity operations and management.
  • Deliver engaging, applied instruction through lectures, hands-on labs, simulations, and case studies.
  • Assess student learning.
  • Mentor students undertaking research projects with industry partners.
  • Potentially teach areas including infrastructure cybersecurity, advanced network security, cybersecurity architecture, threat intelligence, cryptography, cloud security, cybersecurity and AI ethics, cybersecurity leadership, security operations, incident response, digital forensics, and crisis management.
  • Supervise applied industry research projects.

Requirements

  • A completed PhD in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, or a closely related field is required.
  • Significant professional experience in cybersecurity or a related technical domain.
  • Demonstrated expertise in areas such as network security, security architecture, cloud security, cryptography, threat intelligence, or security operations.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level, preferably at the graduate level, or an equivalent record of professional training, mentoring, or technical leadership.
  • Experience supervising applied research, capstone projects, or industry-partnered student work is considered an asset.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, OSCP, or GIAC certifications) are considered assets.
  • A record of applied research, publications, or industry contributions in cybersecurity is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A commitment to student-centred, experiential learning.

  • Humber Polytechnic has launched Ontario's first applied master's degree in cybersecurity, the Master of Computer Science in Cybersecurity Operations and Management.
