About the Role

The Lead Service Technician ensures the community meets safety, appearance, and operational standards while managing financial goals. This role oversees property maintenance, unit make-ready processes, and construction projects, while supervising and training maintenance staff to ensure high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect grounds and building features daily to identify and correct hazards.
  • Oversee general maintenance, unit make-ready, and preventative maintenance.
  • Manage construction or rehabilitation projects.
  • Maintain an organized and stocked maintenance shop.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff.
  • Monitor work progress and provide instruction to staff.
  • Schedule and respond to on-call and after-hours emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and OSHA regulations.
  • Monitor maintenance expenditures and identify budget variances.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 3+ years of multi-family or commercial maintenance experience.
  • EPA Sec 608 Certification (Type I/II or Universal).
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders and maneuver around equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to be on-call.
