About the Role

The Front Office Delivery IT team supports the bespoke IT requirements of Traders, Originators, and Analysts, providing solutions for commercial decision support and traditional IT activities. We generally build in a Microsoft stack, working closely with traders and analysts, and our work ranges from short-term tasks to multi-month projects. We encourage empowerment and accountability in a flat organizational structure, fostering a supportive and friendly team environment. We are looking for a talented individual to join our commercial-facing Front Office IT Delivery team.

Responsibilities

Implement new features and enhancements for several front-office tools.
Provide post-deployment support, where required.
Be responsible for end-to-end delivery of any change from analysis and solution design through to implementation and release.
Adhere to the company’s best practices and guidelines for software development and DevOps.
Document changes and test scenarios.

Requirements

Ability to understand a system or problem quickly in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to define system architectures (Enterprise or Tactical).
Ability to communicate and work with various teams after defining a solution.
Ability to develop solutions.
Understanding of system building blocks and concepts.
Understanding of what’s needed to make a system supportable.
Aptitude to offer support for developed systems.
Ability to build robust systems.
Interest in technology and new developments, breaking them down for application in our environment.
Drive to pick up new things (with support/training).
Willingness to undertake analysis and testing.
Ability to de-risk analysis and testing with test automation.
Ability to leverage AI tools to improve code quality, test coverage, and delivery efficiency.
Ideally experienced working at an energy trading house, investment bank, or a leading software house specializing in providing software-based solutions.
Solid grasp of core C# concepts and awareness of coding practices.
Experience with relational databases (preferably Oracle or SQL Server).
Good understanding of code testing principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a good level of attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills with the ability to actively engage with non-technical audiences.
Hands-on approach, flexible and positive attitude.
