About the Role
The Trade Settlement and Confirmation Operations (TSCO) team is the core settlement operation group for the IB Business, supporting multiple asset classes across various teams. This role involves supporting day-to-day processes, maintaining control governance, and building a robust settlement workflow. The position requires strong communication skills in both Japanese and English, with client-facing responsibilities and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across different locations.
Responsibilities
- Support IB Business / Corporate Banking Business Settlements and confirmation for asset class: FX, OTC Derivatives, Investment Trust Funds, Fixed Income Security, Loan, Money Market, Treasury, Nostro Management.
- Participate in various projects and user acceptance testing as the Tokyo User representative to the regional and global project team as well as to the IT team.
- Assist the senior member to perform end to end settlement analysis and detail analysis for process improvements.
- Contribute to implementing procedural and control changes in response to regulatory and policy changes.
- Client facing – solve day to day transactional issues with client, navigate client to the correct team for queries for other division.
- Take part in new business initiatives and operational initiatives.
Requirements
- Able to self-study, work and navigate independently.
- Ability to work on new system, applications and tools.
- Fosters & motivates creative thinking in self & others and promotes new ideas.
- Eager to learn – operational flow, system flow, market requirement to deepen the understanding of the product.
- Fully conversant in Japanese with strong conversant skills for English including written communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 product.
- Able to communicate with teams from different country and cultural backgrounds with patience and understanding towards cultural diversity.
- Team player who can work effectively with people all at levels, and across all areas, to achieve the goals of the group.
