About the Role

The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Marketing Group within the Gastroenterology & Inflammation Therapeutic Area Marketing Department, Second Business Unit, Japan Pharma Business Unit (JPBU), is engaged in developing and executing the marketing strategy for Entyvio in the ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease areas. The group also plans and designs a wide range of initiatives, working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to patients living with IBD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product strategy to address business challenges by deeply understanding the market environment, customers, products, and portfolio, and by identifying, structuring, and analyzing issues in collaboration with the brand team and relevant functions.
  • Take end-to-end ownership for planning, executing, and evaluating a portion of the execution plan based on the product strategy.
  • Validate strategic hypotheses and assess potential actions through primary and secondary research, enabling accurate understanding of the market environment and continuous verification and refinement of the strategy with market researchers.
  • Propose strategy and execution plans to internal and external stakeholders to obtain approvals and secure support.
  • Ensure rigorous execution of the strategy by maintaining smooth communication with Sales and other functions and by effectively managing external medical experts.
  • Support maximization of product value beyond Japan by collaborating with global teams and other countries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry or consulting experience (Nice to have)
  • Experience proposing budgets to management through budget reviews
  • Proven experience driving projects forward with internal and external stakeholders and leading them to successful outcomes
  • Business-level Japanese in speaking, writing, and reading.

  • Business-level English proficiency (TOEIC score of 850 or above, or equivalent English ability) (Nice to have)
